Special Issue 15
Call for Papers
Special
Issue of the International Journal of Engineering, Project, and
Production Management (EPPM-Journal)
Title: Multi-Agent Intelligence for Complex Engineering and Production
Environments
Lead Guest Editor: Dr. Brij B. Gupta (bbgupta@asia.edu.tw)
Aims and Scope
The rapid advancement of artificial
intelligence, multi-agent systems, and autonomous technologies is
transforming the way complex engineering projects and production
environments are designed, managed, and optimized. Multi-agent
intelligence enables distributed decision-making, autonomous
coordination, adaptive resource allocation, and intelligent
collaboration among interconnected systems, offering innovative
solutions to the growing complexity, uncertainty, and dynamic
requirements of modern engineering and industrial operations.
This special issue aims to explore recent advances, emerging
methodologies, and practical applications of multi-agent intelligence in
engineering, project management, and production environments. It seeks
to bring together researchers, academicians, and industry professionals
to present innovative approaches that integrate multi-agent systems,
agentic AI, large language models, reinforcement learning, digital
twins, and intelligent optimization techniques to improve operational
efficiency, productivity, reliability, and sustainability.
The scope of this special issue encompasses theoretical developments,
computational frameworks, intelligent decision-support systems, and
real-world applications of collaborative and autonomous agents across
engineering and industrial domains. Particular emphasis is placed on
multi-agent coordination, distributed planning, intelligent scheduling,
resource management, predictive maintenance, risk assessment, and
adaptive production optimization. The special issue also encourages
interdisciplinary research addressing the integration of multi-agent
intelligence with Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 technologies,
cyber-physical systems, and human-centered engineering management.
By fostering collaboration between artificial intelligence researchers
and engineering management practitioners, this special issue seeks to
advance the development of scalable, trustworthy, resilient, and
sustainable multi-agent solutions capable of addressing complex
challenges in next-generation engineering, project execution, and
production management.
